Reason for Connection:
Family Dollar was set to open over 200 stores across the United States between January 2008 and May 2009. For each store they had planned a grand opening event that would include special activities and prizes for customers. They wanted to ensure awareness and excitement about the new stores opening as well as drive traffic to the store grand opening event. Malone Advertising partnered with All Points Connect get the job done!
Results:
All Points Connect provided an energetic Street Team of Connectors in each market to promote the store grand opening events by facilitating flyer distribution at local businesses and door hanging in local neighborhoods. APC Account Managers not only trained and managed Connectors for this campaign but also conducted research to create a target route for each team in every market to ensure flyers and door hangers were reaching the intended audience. Connectors managed all inventory and provided a detailed recap report describing the areas they targeted as well as customer feedback.
During the year and a half long campaign, All Points Connect provided nearly 400 Connectors to promote over 200 Family Dollar Store Grand Opening Events. Throughout this campaign Connectors distributed 300,000 flyers and 300,000 door hangers to target locations.

Reason for Connection:
Ohio Natural Gas had a fever, and the only prescription wasn’t more Cow Bell: it was Picture Marketing. Competing in a very large market, Ohio Natural Gas (ONG) needed to generate brand awareness in the Cleveland market and chose to do so by sending a team of APC Connectors to use Picture Marketing technology to take photos of attendees at the Cleveland Rib Cook-Off.
Picture Marketing is a method of non-traditional marketing in which an individual picture is used as a driver to collect valuable client information, drive sales, direct potential customers to a branded website or increase brand impressions. Pictures are taken using the trademarked FotoZap cameras and uploaded to the branded landing page of a web site. Specific branding is placed onto all pictures that remain with the photos while they are viewed, saved, forwarded or even posted to a Facebook page.
For this event, the frame that the pictures were put into read “Ohio Natural Gas” across the bottom next to a picture of the ONG mascot, Gas Guy. In addition, visitors to the site were asked to complete a survey that provided ONC with valuable marketing data.
All Points Connect staffed a team of two Connectors during peak hours of the Rib Cook-off. Connectors approached people to tell them about Ohio Natural Gas and the great service offerings available to consumers. The Connectors invited people to have their picture taken. Prior to taking the photo, the Connector used the FotoZap Camera to scan the unique bar coded flyer that would enable people to find their picture using the unique code. Connectors made sure attendees understood how they could find their photo.
Results:
This promotion fulfilled ONG’s goals of increasing their brand awareness in the Cleveland market as well as letting people know about their service offerings and choices available when selecting a gas carrier. After learning of these opportunities, many attendees became interested in learning more about ONG.
Connectors did a great job of encouraging event attendees to view the ONG website after they expressed interest in ONG’s services. Throughout the event, Connectors took approximately one picture every minute. They captured a total of 634 photos and over 35% of the people responded to the survey and viewed their photo. This promotion fulfilled ONG’s goals of increasing their brand awareness in the Cleveland market as well as letting people know about their service offerings and choices available when selecting a gas carrier. After learning of these opportunities, many attendees became interested in learning more about ONG.
Connectors did a great job of encouraging event attendees to view the ONG website after they expressed interest in ONG’s services. Throughout the event, Connectors took approximately one picture every minute. They captured a total of 634 photos and over 35% of the people responded to the survey and viewed their photo. Through the viral component, an additional 111 people came to the Ohio Natural Gas site as a referral from a Rib Cook-off attendee.
Based on these results, this event was a sure-fire success!
